It is my belief that every human being is already whole and complete, having everything within themselves necessary for healing and growth. Each person I work with brings many, many strengths and gifts with them into my office. The areas in which they have challenges or feel stuck arise from parts of themselves that, for whatever reason, haven’t had the chance to be tapped into, worked with and used. My job is to figure out, in a creative fashion, with you, how together we can tap into and develop those places in you that will bring balance, healing and growth.
I am Cos Raimondi, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Addictions Counselor, and MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction) Teacher. I have been in clinical practice since 1987. Prior to my work as a therapist, I spent ten years working as a pastoral counselor. My theological training, while centered in Judeo-Christian religion, allows me to be respectful of and able to work with all spiritual traditions including Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, humanistic atheism and agnosticism.
While my practice encompasses a broad range of issues, I have specialized in men’s sexuality, couple therapy (including formal training in Imago Relationship Therapy), and clinical practice for the LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer) Community, earning a Certificate in LGBTQ Clinical Practice in 2002. I have post graduate training in couple therapy, and many years of experience working with both traditional and nontraditional couples. My current work is focused on ACT (Acceptance Commitment Therapy), an approach to psychotherapy that incorporates mindfulness training – the ability to be present in the moment with what is, without judgment or struggle.
I received my Master of Social Work degree from Indiana University in 1991 and was given the faculty award for Outstanding MSW Graduate. I was awarded my Master of Religious Studies degree from the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium in 1976. I have completed the requisite training to be recognized as a qualified MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction) teacher by the UMASS School of Medicine Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care, and Society.

Mindfulness is the awareness that arises by intentionally paying attention to the present moment with
